Description
The Pool of Siloam was used to unveil one’s personal testimony in due season. The testimony speaks of Christ’s testing one’s allegiance before spiritual sight is given. The interactions with Christ lead to sight of a present-day work of God. The testing gives sight, so we might see Christ working. The testimony was mandated by God, coming just before the hour when none of us can work. The word Siloam has prophetic connotation, meaning “sent.” When the Spirit of Christ interacts through one’s testimony, He is displaying a visual sign. As also seen in John 9, a visual sign must be displayed before God’s eschatological judgment begins.
ROGER THOMAS, a servant of Christ for over thirty-five years. God’s interactions in Roger’s life have drawn him nearer the scriptures. He speaks of his personal testimony as “a door that no man can shut.” In the beginning his testimony seemed obscure in meaning to him, very difficult to understand. Why was God drawing near to him? Why was God testing his allegiance? In time, the interactions unveil a work of God to him. His test at Siloam, known as “the work of God,” is a testimony that would come at its appointed time. God has correlated Roger’s personal testimony with that of the blind man’s testimony as described in John 9. The correlation of testimonies would direct his steps. His calling was to unveil a divine work emanating from God. The test at Siloam directs one’s understanding of that work.
